It replaces or swaps into the fixture to convert its lighting pattern to a Type IV (T4) distribution. Type IV distribution throws a wide, asymmetric beam forward, making it ideal for perimeter mounting along the edges of parking lots, building boundaries, and roadways where you want to push light forward into the area without letting it spill backward.
